Family Birthing Centre
The Dr. R.J. Family Birthing Centre is secured unit with six delivery suites that supports over 400 families a year as they welcome their babies into the world. Our dedicated team of six Family Physicians, two Midwifery groups, specially trained OB nurses, registered practical nurses, and lactation consultants are here to support this process.
Our staff and physicians provide one-to-one nursing care during labour, 24-hour C-section coverage, and as well a wide range of labour pain management options, including comfort measures, nitrous oxide, parenteral narcotics, and epidurals. We also provide postnatal follow up visits to ensure that parents and babies are transitioning well into their new roles and that infant feeding is going well.
