The South Bruce Grey Family Health Organization - Walkerton and Mildmay
The Brockton and Area FHO is a collegial group of 9 family physicians working closely with the Brockton and Area FHT.
Physicians provide full-scope family medicine.
Most of the primary care offices are located in the professional building adjacent to the SBGH - Walkerton Site.
The Walkerton Hospital is part of a 4 site group which includes hospitals in Kincardine, Durham and Chesley.

Hospital Services
The Emergency Department sees an average of 12,500 patients per year. Physicians are paid for emergency work under an alternative payment plan.
The Operating Room is staffed by a full-time surgeon and itinerant surgeons.
The Birthing Centre handles ~ 400 births per year.
Diagnostic Imaging includes Digital X-ray, Ultrasound, CT scans, and Mammography. After-hours CT scan is available, as well as remote radiologist backup.
The Laboratory operates 7 days a week from 8 am to 11 pm.
Regional Specialist Services
The South Bruce Grey Health Centre offers a full spectrum of specialist medical and surgical services. Patients’ specialist needs are referred to itinerant specialists, or to Owen Sound (1 hour away) London (2 hours away) and Kitchener (1 ½ hours away).
